Onsom.com turns 3 years old

onsom.com is already three years old and this is our little story.

In September 2003, Vicenç Pardo and Bernat Català joined our friendly relationship with our personal, academic and professional experiences to build and develop a business project: onsom.com. From here we intensify the meetings, we talk and raise the issue with friends and potential customers, we study and analyze the market and the competition.

All this allows us to detect the advantages and shortcomings of our competitors. Some of our friends and potential clients do not quite understand clearly what needs our project wants to satisfy. So, and thanks to Active Barcelona, we try to work on the communication of the idea and what makes us different through seminars, courses, bibliography... The result is very positive. We have defined our activity, we know how to communicate it and our interlocutors understand it. This solidity allows us to evolve into a multidisciplinary company that can work in different fields, establishing synergies between technology and business and institutional communication.

After analyzing the different legal forms and the pros and cons, in April 2004, we decided to set up a limited company, ONSOM SL. After the corresponding procedures, we started our business activity in May 2004.

In September 2005 we were admitted to the business incubator of the European Center for Innovative Companies of the Balearic Islands (CEEI Balears), coinciding with an extension of the line of credit that we have contracted with the banking entity SA NOSTRA. This gave us a great boost at all levels: improvement of the corporate image, new clients, access to programs and aid, but above all, it allowed us to increase our efforts in research, innovation and development.

During these last two years we have not lost contact with Barcelona, where we already have some clients and we travel frequently and encourage contact with potential clients, entrepreneurs, business angels, and always thanks to Barcelona Activa.

Since May 2006 we have participated in the Program for the Internationalization of Companies (PIPE), a program developed by the Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade (ICEX), the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy of the Balearic Government and the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Mallorca, Ibiza and Formentera. For the development of these phases of the PIPE, the company will have the advice of a person specialized in international trade (PIPE Promoter) and with the support of up to 80% of the expenses related to the internationalization of the company by the co-organizing institutions of this program for a period of 22 months.
